Dan Fogelberg : Love in Time
 In 2003, while compiling material for a CD of live recordings, Dan Fogelberg came across some rough demos he had recorded earlier in his career. He felt inspired to finish them and worked on the songs until May of 2004 when he was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer. During his battle, he recorded three new songs, including a love song for his wife, "Sometimes A Song," that was released as a download on Valentine's Day 2008 to benefit the Prostate Cancer Foundation. In 2006, Dan completed, sequenced, and wrote the liner notes for the CD he titled LOVE IN TIME. He put it in the family's safe deposit box and asked his wife to release it after he was gone. UMe is now very proud to announce distribution of Dan Fogelberg's last record before his sad passing on December 16, 2007. As his wife writes on Dan's official website, "Dan left us on December 16, 2007 but his music continues -- a living legacy to one of the most versatile and talented musicians, singers, and songwriters of his generation." Love In Time is Dan Fogelberg's final studio album and it is truly among his finest.
The first song on the album, "Love In Time", is a song first heard on a very fine studio album Dan produced back in 1983 called Beauty Lies. This album was a solo project for Michael Brewer, who was one half of the acclaimed duo, Brewer and Shipley. "Nature of the Game" is a song that vividly remember seeing Dan perform at a live show years ago. This is one great song. As other reviewers noted, Fogelberg's rendition of "Birds" is beautiful, but haunting and very sad. It was wise for Dan to put this song at the very end. As one listens to the album, one is captivated by the songs and one is driven to hear more; however, after Fogelberg finishes singing his very emotional version of "Birds" and one hears the very first sound that begins "To The Morning" from Fogelberg's first album, the album really feels like it's over and needs to end. Musically, the album covers a lot of territory and brings to mind the best of Fogelberg's earlier works. There's rock, blues, country rock, ballads and a great deal of harmony on this album. And his playing, as usual, is stellar.
